The Quarry at La Quinta
Spectacular mountain setting in
an old sand quarry. This course was established
in 1994.
It features waterfalls, streams,
numerous changes in elevations. Water hazards
come into play on at least ten holes. The greens
are fast, and the fairways are narrow. The seventy-foot
waterfall near hole #10 is thought to be the highest
water feature ever created on a golf course. "Golf
Digest" rated this as the 11th "Best
in State" course from 1995 through 1998,
and "GOLF Magazine" ranked it 83rd among
the "100 Greatest Courses in the U.S."
for 1995. Fabulous bronze works of art are featured
though out this course.
